Guilin is a city heavily influenced by tourism. Its traditional handicrafts are famous. The Guilin region, with the crystal-clear Li River, is among the most popular travel destinations in all of China. It lies amidst legendary, cave-rich tower karst mountains that are reflected in rivers and lakes. The Li River is 437 km long and flows through the cities of Guilin, Yangshuo, Pingle, and Wuzhou. Tourists find the most beautiful stretch between Guilin and Yangshuo (83 km). Various boat tours are offered on the Li River. Additionally, it is possible to rent bicycles to explore the surroundings of Guilin on your own. Bus tours or individual guides can also be arranged.
