The mausoleum is located on the eastern slope of Helan Mountain, approximately 35 kilometers from Yinchuan. Covering an area of about 50 square kilometers, it contains nine royal mausoleums and over 207 tombs of high aristocrats. These are the best-preserved tombs of their kind in all of China and are among the most extensive burial sites in the country. Some have been excavated, revealing many valuable burial artifacts.
