Qinghai Lake, with an area of 4,583 km², is one of the largest saltwater lakes in the world. It lies at an elevation of 3,195 meters and holds significant cultural importance, especially for Tibetans. Today, the lake is a nature reserve and has been recognized by National Geographic magazine as the most beautiful lake in China.
