Hongkong

Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region located on the southern coast of the People's Republic of China, situated at the Pearl River Delta.

Hong Kong is divided into four main regions: Kowloon, Hong Kong Island, New Territories, and Outlying Islands. The core city spans both sides of Victoria Harbour, encompassing areas in both Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. Numerous ferry services, as well as road tunnels and subway lines, connect the two sides of the city.

Under the unique principle of "one country, two systems," Hong Kong was returned to Chinese sovereignty on July 1, 1997, becoming a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. This arrangement grants Hong Kong a high degree of autonomy, maintaining its capitalist system, independent judiciary, rule of law, and free trade.

Hong Kong's port played a pivotal role in its development as a trading center and major port for China. Fueled by industrialization, Hong Kong evolved into a leading financial and service hub in Asia. Its blend of Eastern and Western cultures, coupled with diverse attractions and stunning landscapes, has made Hong Kong a premier destination for travelers worldwide.

HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Hong Kong International Airport is one of the largest and most modern airports in the world. It is located on Lantau Island, about 30 minutes from downtown, and offers state-of-the-art facilities and services for guests arriving in or departing from Hong Kong. Arriving passengers have direct access to buses, trains, taxis, and hotel shuttle services. Additionally, high-speed ferries transport guests to the Chinese mainland. The airport also sets standards in environmental protection and there are plans to expand the airport soon as passenger numbers continue to rise.

Operated by the MTR, the Airport Express takes less than 25 minutes to reach Hong Kong Island, making it the fastest option to the airport. Airport Express passengers have the option of using a free shuttle bus from the Kowloon or Hong Kong station, which stops at the major hotels. Both Airport Express stations in the city center offer a free check-in service for air travelers.
