Yan'An Village

Yan'an is located in the northern part of Shaanxi Province, on the border with Inner Mongolia and along the Yellow River. In 1935, Yan'an became the destination of the Long March and thereafter, until 1948, served as the political and military base of the Communist Party of China. Moreover, Yan'an was also an important base for Korean exiled communists until 1945, who later moved to North Korea after the end of World War II, where a communist regime was installed by the Soviets.
